MUNICIPAL GOLF ADVISORY BOARD – On March 10, 2009, the Parks & Recreation Board relinquished its oversight of municipal golf courses in the City of Abilene. This board was established on April 9, 2009, and is comprised of seven (7) citizens of Abilene appointed by the Mayor with Council approval. The purpose being to make recommendations to the City Council to assist in developing and overseeing municipal golf programs and courses to meet the needs of the community.
